We have combined the various renewable energy sources by integrating them in a single house to tackle various energy needs, be it temperature regulation, lighting or other electronic appliances.
NZEB has been designed in such a manner that it minimizes the wastage of energy and even stores the surplus energy in a battery pack. Even the rainfall is effectively harvested in the designs, and used for various realistic purposes like watering the plants, after required treatment.
Energy forms a large part of our lives - especially in the form of electricity. For the generation of this electricity, enormous amounts of non-renewable sources including fossil fuels like coal, are used everyday. This not only leads to their depletion, but also several other environmental problems including, but not limited to, global warming. By using only the renewable resources, our house fulfills all the common energy requirements of a house, all while not harming the environment.
To bring this idea to reality, we have researched extensively on every detail about the house, ranging from 24*7 lighting, to minimizing the wastage of natural resources including rainwater. We have developed a working model of the NZEB and have tried to increase awareness of such buildings.
The greatest challenge in our project is the fact that for the absolute proof of concept, our project needs a real-life building with the integration of the various measures that we have designed in our project. This, however, requires a large amount of investment and funding, which is beyond our capacity. Without this, we can't also obtain data regarding the actual effectiveness of our project, at the current stage.
